National Museums Liverpool Blog

The National Museums, Liverpool, have a blog! Not only this, but you can see stuff from the Dig at the Dock, including images on their Flickr account. Thanks to Tom for this – excellant find!

Album release; ‘Origin of Species in Dub’ by the Genomic Dub Collective

Genomic Dub Collective - 'Origin of Species of Dub' - album cover

Yes, the long awaited release of the definitive work in the genomic dub genre… Videos and mp3s are now online, as are comprehensive notes on the lyrics!

This project draws on the skills, knowledge and experience of an eclectic mix of individuals, united by a common love of science and music, including: a Professor of Microbial Genomics, a Jamaican scientist who is a native speaker of Jamaican Creole, a talented programmer with experience of organising student events and a clinical psychologist with extensive experience as a musician and events organiser.

What a line-up! There’s more on the project manifesto here

Snow!

well, as you can see from the photos on Flickr, I’m working from home today! We’ve had a little snow last night and the whole valley is under a deep blanket. I’ve just been out to have a look at the village and the road leading up and down the mountain looks rather scary… So far so good with the phone lines but the electricity is a bit patchy.  I’ll take a walk down to the gorge at lunchtime to see the sights; should be beautiful!
